Sports Day 2011 - Friday 18 February
It's on again in 2011
The time has come once again for the UQMS Sports Day, all it's missing is you. Get your scrubs on, get your running shoes on, and get your drink on.
In our flood ravaged city, a venue has been hard to find, but the Convening team refused to give up. On the 18th of February, we will embark on a journey over the Green Bridge to the home of Sports Day 2011: Dutton Park. It's not at UQ, it's not in St Lucia, and it's not even this si...de of the big brown river but it's ours for the day. Filled with entertainment galore and drinks aplenty, Dutton Park is Brisbane's Atlantis; rising from the flood waters to provide UQ medical students with an escape from the tortuous reality of PBL, path tuts and proctology. Head to your respective starting lines in the morning and get ready to run. Sports Day 2011 will be one to remember.

Road to Beijing...
Get your endurance hat on this Friday for one of the highlights of the UQMS Social Calendar. The trucks are loaded with cheap beverages, the scrubs are distributed and the jumping castle is inflated... You do not want to miss out!

Schedule - MBBS III + IV - if you run past the corner of Elizabeth St and Wharf St you will be gifted with a bottle opener and a chance to win a $50 coles voucher from Health Workforce Queesland.
Regatta Dress Code for afterparty: please note the Regatta has a dress code of a covered torso, pants and footwear (including thongs). 10% discount on food upon presentation of UQMS key ring. |

Scrubs! Get Your Scrubs!
Authentic theatre-worn scrubs are now available in exchange for a $5 donation to the Ashintosh Trust, the charity partner of the UQMS which funds the Teddy Bear Hospital. UQMS members will be visiting 1st & 2nd year lectures NEXT WEEK (week beg 4th February) - so make sure you have some cash left over from lunch. For all other students, the scrubs will be available at the UQMS office from Mon 4th Feb.
Scrubs also make excellent pyjamas, fishing gear, and flag components for nations such as Greece and Argentina - get them now! |

Get your scrubs on
It's that time of year again. One of the most anticipated days on the Medicine social calendar, where all years unite for a day of fun-filled activities, sport, and perhaps, some refreshments... It's SPORTS DAY 2009!
First, second, third and fourth years meet at their own nominated locations, then make their way to the paddocks of St. Lucia. Get ready to get your Ironman groove on. Where: Brisbane CBD and UQ St Lucia When: Friday, February 20, 2009 *** SECOND HAND SCRUBS AVAILABLE *** $5 PER PAIR. Available from UQMS Office. Limited supplies so get in quick before you miss out.
