Applications for positions on the 2018 Incision UQ Committee are now open. Incision UQ has a Management Committee, comprised of a Chair and three (3) Vice-Chairs, in addition to the UQMS Vice-President Internal, and a broader Committee of Officers.

Application Process

  1. You must hold an Incision UQ Surgical Pass in order to apply. If you are unsure, email incision.chair@uqms.org to check your membership.
  2. Potential candidates are strongly advised to contact incision.chair@uqms.org before applying.

    1. Filled out Form 4 found on the website (http://www.uqms.org/elections/)
    2. Relevant CV (max. 2 pages, all margins 2 cm, size 12 minimum)
    3. Cover letter (max. 500 words)
  4. Your CV and your cover letter should address the following criteria:
    1. Vision for the role
    2. Previous experience relevant to the role, including leadership and administration
    3. Communication skills and other relevant skills
    4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  5. Candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application via email. Candidates may be required to attend an interview for further selection.

  • Oversee the management of Incision UQ and ensuring the achievement of the association’s mission and objectives
  • Actively engage in strategic planning for the association, and coordinate progress reports on the association for internal and external viewing at designated time points during the financial year
  • Oversee the work of the Incision UQ Management Committee and the Sub-committee (ie all position holders of Incision UQ)
  • Act as the official spokesperson of Incision UQ
  • Work with the UQMS Vice-President Internal and is placed on the UQMS Management Committee

 

Vice-Chair (Events)

  • Support the Chair in their activities, and act as the internal head for the events portfolio of Incision UQ (events refer to any skills based events or social functions run by Incision UQ as part of the events portfolio)
  • Liaise with all other members of the Management Committee and Sub-committee to ensure that all outstanding tasks are completed and facilitating the smooth running of any events proposed by Incision UQ
  • Ensure optimal internal functioning of relevant Sub-committee members
  • Work with the Chair to ensure Incision UQ’s strong external image to all Members, Stakeholders and Sponsors and to fulfil the Chair’s key responsibilities when they are unable to as requested
  • Responsible for ensuring the coordination and execution of the Incision UQ’s external events.

  • Support the Chair in their activities, and act as the internal head for the education portfolio of Incision UQ (the education portfolio refers to any academic, anatomy or research based portfolio of Incision UQ)
  • Liaise with all other members of the Management Committee and Sub-committee to ensure that all outstanding tasks are completed and facilitating the smooth running of any events proposed by Incision UQ
  • Ensure optimal internal functioning of relevant Sub-committee members
  • Work with the Chair to ensure Incision UQ’s strong external image to all Members, Stakeholders and Sponsors and to fulfil the Chair’s key responsibilities when they are unable to as requested

  • Responsible for managing the records and operation of Incision UQ and ensuring the internal functioning of the organisation, and is responsible for calling meetings and taking minutes.
  • Maintaining and updating the membership register, as well as coordinating any membership promotion and marketing efforts
  • Ensure that Incision UQ achieves its membership projections
  • Organising internal functions, such as strategic planning events for Management Committee and Sub-committee members and calling any ordinary or extraordinary meetings for Incision UQ
