Special General Meeting for Proposed Amendments to Rules of the Association, By-Laws and Standing Orders
In follow-up to the discussion forum that occurred on October 28, 2010, the official documents of the UQMS (Rules of the Association, Voting and Electoral By-Laws and Standing Orders) have returned from the lawyer and undergone review by the Management Committee.
The UQMS is holding an Special General Meeting on December 8, 2010; 5:30pm to approve these changes and provide consistency and structure for the incoming 2011 Management Committee.

Thank you for all who attended the Discussion Forum that replaced the Special General Meeting.
To update everyone, we have been in consultation with our lawyers through this review process have decided, in consultation with them, that the most appropriate option for the UQMS is to create new documents using the ideas and sentiments appearing in the current Rules of Association, Standing Orders and Voting and Electoral By-Laws.
From here, the UQMS Management Committee will submit the three documents to our lawyers with the feedback received from student consultation. Our lawyers have stated they will be able to draft new, appropriate and legal documents for our review within three weeks. |

UQMS 1st Ordinary General Meeting
(Election of academic representatives and event convenors)
The first Ordinary General Meeting of the UQMS in 2011 will be held on Tuesday 1 March, at 6.30pm in the E.S. Meyers Lecture Theatre, Mayne Medical School, Herston.
This meeting incorporates the election of academic representatives and social event convenors for the calendar year. For those that have not already pre-polled online, you will be able to vote on the night.
A total of 37 positions are up for election; nominees should acquiant themselves with the following documentation:
Six portfolios did not receive a nomination; these are detailed below and nominations will be accepted from the floor of the Ordinary General Meeting.
